So i thought i would create something new with the new ‘Mixer Brush’ in CS5. I mostly like it that you can blend color on the canvas which gives a more painterly feel. In this case its a bugs journey.

Several people have asked me to do some photo restoration so i thought i would put up an example of a BEFORE and AFTER image for something i have worked on recently.
When i work on a project i think about the end result and how i would like to see the photo look like as if it were already completed then work backwards as the project rolls forward.
From the imagery on the left, the picture on the left is the before image which has a lot of dust particles, tack marks, and other damaged and tattered perforations in the picture film.
On the right hand side is the edited version after i restored and tried to make the picture film appear as if it were the first scanned image right when it was taken in the booth.
The top portion of the left image does not have as much work that needed to be restored as does near the bottom of the left image. As you can see near the bottom there is a large section of the girl’s mouth that was gouged out and needed to be replaced. I painted in the girl’s teeth, corner of the mouth, and cheek to fill in the restoration of the picture film.
Sometimes working with imagery that needs a lot of work done unlike this small photo booth picture film would require a lot of painting in and trying to matte paint as much as possible to work with the face. I tried to match the faces when i painted it and it was somewhat hard to match the greyscale image even with the ‘eye dropper tool’. But alas, I feel i did a fairly successful job.
In the future, i will be offering my services for charge to restore old photos as a package whole. Please email me if you have any questions. Thanks!

I feel the Spirit’s presence as a physical sensation in my body as a cold, cool, comforting peace (blue). I feel the Spirit as a very (white) light that is radiating inside me. I also have felt the Spirit as a warm (orange) fire in my chest which to me radiates them all as a ‘cold/white/fire’ which gave me the inspiration to do this logo. Parts of the logo are a symbol of eternity symbolizing ‘one eternal round’; a fire symbolizing the intensity of the Spirit’s presence; and a pair of wings that represents an uplifting and celestial context. Thanks for viewing. Enjoy!
I was listening to Tron Legacy on my computer and i couldn’t help draw something cool. I felt the music was part of my creativity and i dont really know where im going with this but this is the first sketch. I like the temple feel to it and i like the dirtiness of it. I guess it will really come to life when i learn to add color. So far its just a cool idea in motion.
Just finished texturing this cabin/ticket booth for Phoenix Online Studios new game called the The Silver Lining which has been a good way i have been able to practice my texture work. I textured both the cabin and the bench. The models were given to me by Michael Fortunato. I had three months to work on both textures. They had me re-UV the layout to maximize 0-1 texture space and bump up the resolution from 512 to 1024. Below are the actual textures i use and created in Photoshop CS4 and Crazybump.

Some fragmentation happened in the process in the light map. This was my first opportunity outside of school to try what i learned in school to be used in real life.

Thanks for viewing. The bench texture came from this little corner down here on the left.

Working on my Sunsets
I Horde Treasure

I couldn’t resist painting another painting in Photoshop. I’m really enjoying creating all my own brushes and being creative with color. I found out how to extract swatches from reference material which makes painting great because you can paint the reference or make up something like i did here and totally do your own thing. This time i painted with more than one color and im liking it. I am partially blind due to my visual processing disorder and the colors are blurry in some sense but im working on it and trying to get better.
Right now im working on just having fun with brushes and working on color and value. Thanks for viewing my website!
